Dennis Ramsay

Famous folk artist Dennis Ramsay of Kentville, Nova Scotia has been selling folk art since 1984. Dennis paints pictures of everything (people, animals, landscapes, fishes, hockey logos, etc.). Dennis has sold about 5529 painting since 1984. 

Dennis became even more popular in 2013 when Kentville town hall stopped his outdoor art displays at 27 Canaan Ave in Kentville. Dennis was selling folk art Monday to Sunday every day. Dennis’s displays would have 20 to 50 paintings outdoors at a time for sale. Then town hall in Kentville made a new bylaw for yard sellers and Dennis Ramsay’s folk art displays. Town hall of Kentville said Dennis can only display and sell SIX paintings on Saturdays and Sundays between 9am and 5pm. So the new bylaw was made for Dennis Ramsay’s Folk Art Displays. Dennis believes the new bylaw for yard sellers is not fair for artists because yard sellers sell 1000’s of items while artists are restricted to SIX paintings for sale.
